WILEY INTERDISCIPLINARY REVIEWS-CLIMATE CHANGE《威利跨学科评论-气候变化》(可网站投稿)

WILEY INTERDISCIPLINARY REVIEWS-CLIMATE CHANGE《威利跨学科评论-气候变化》(双月刊)。Climate change has become one of the most visible phenomena in the world today, recognized through the changes occurring to physical climates, natural and managed environments and social organizations, and also through deliberations about ethical responsibility and public policy. WIREs Climate Change offers a unique platform for exploring current and emerging knowledge from the many disciplines that contribute to our understanding of this phenomenon – environmental history, the humanities, physical and life sciences, social sciences, engineering and economics. This publication has been developed in association with the Royal Meteorological Society and the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in the UK and provides an important new encyclopedic reference for climate change scholarship and research. It also acts as a forum for gaining a wider set of perspectives about how climate change is understood, analyzed and contested around the world.

Resources for Authors:

Thank you for agreeing to write for WIREs! There are many links below to help prepare your manuscript, including links for our article template. Submission information can be found in your author acceptance email. Contact us if you have any questions.

We encourage collaborative reviews by soliciting joint authorship, especially across disciplinary boundaries, so please feel free to recruit co-authors with this in mind.

There are no page charges, color charges, or publication fees.

Another unique feature of the WIREs model is that you will have the option to update your review, as you would an encyclopedia entry, with a new article on recent findings in the field at least 3 years after your initial article has been published.

For authors who would like to write for us: The WIREs titles are generally invitation-only, but researchers are welcome to submit article proposals to the editors.

Writing Your Article

WIREs Article Templates (Microsoft Word for a Word document; Authorea for collaborative online editing and LaTeX): Instructions are in the template, eliminating the need for a lengthy Guide for Authors. Links to the submission websites are below. Note that a username and password will be required to submit an article.

Authorea is an online writing tool that helps streamline the collaborative writing and formatting of research manuscripts. It supports LaTeX, equations and mathematical notation, CrossRef and PubMed citation management, Jupyter notebooks, document sharing and group workspaces, and document versioning and history. Guidelines and support for taking advantages of the full potential of Authorea can be found here.

Search Engine Optimization: The title and abstract of your article are very important to increasing its visibility. We encourage you to make your article more discoverable online with these tips.

Additional Language Abstract (optional): Authors are welcome to provide, in addition to their English-language abstract, additional abstracts in a regional or international language of their choice. In particular, authors whose articles discuss a region where English is not a primary language are encouraged to include an abstract in that region’s language. Authors can also include an abstract in their native language. Wiley supports languages with a valid ISO language code in XML.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the content is equivalent to the English-language abstract, updating it if needed during the revision stage, and proofreading it before publication. Additional language abstracts should be in separate files, with the file name and document header “Abstract in [Name of Language]”, and uploaded as supplementary material during manuscript submission. Example

Preprints Policy: While Wiley does consider articles on preprint servers (ArXiv, bioRxiv, psyArXiv, SocArXiv, engrXiv, etc.) for submission to primary research journals, preprint articles should not be cited in WIREs manuscripts as review articles should discuss and draw conclusions only from peer-reviewed research. However, authors may post the submitted, pre-peer-review version of their WIREs manuscript to a preprint server at any time. Authors are requested to update any pre-publication versions with a link to the final published article.

Resource Identification Portal: The Resource Identification Initiative aims to promote research resource identification, discovery, and reuse by providing unique identifiers for antibodies, model organisms, cell lines, and tools including software and databases. Authors are asked to use Research Resource Identifiers (RRIDs) to cite the resources used or discussed in their articles where applicable in the text, similar to a regular citation or Genbank Accession number.

Data Citation: In recognition of the significance of data as an output of research effort, Wiley has endorsed the FORCE11 Data Citation Principles and is implementing a mandatory data citation policy. We require data to be cited in the same way as article, book, and web citations, and authors are required to include data citations as part of their reference list. Data citation is appropriate for data held within institutional, subject focused, or more general data repositories. It is not intended to take the place of community standards such as in-line citation of GenBank accession codes.

Wiley Editing Services offers expert help with English Language Editing, as well as translation, manuscript formatting, figure illustration, figure formatting, and graphical abstract design – so you can submit your manuscript with confidence. Also, check out our resources for Preparing Your Article for general guidance about writing and preparing your manuscript.

WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology authors: For articles discussing radiolabeled compounds/agents, authors should consult the Consensus nomenclature rules for radiopharmaceutical chemistry that resulted from the International Working Group on 'Nomenclature in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry and related areas'.

Figures

Guidelines for the Preparation of Figures: Please use the more detailed post-acceptance figure requirements that will enhance the online appearance of your article. Images containing human figures or representations of human figures must not contain any form of objectification, sexualization, stereotyping or discrimination of any kind.

Design Effective Figures: Rolandi M, Cheng K, and Pérez-Kriz S. "A Brief Guide to Designing Effective Figures for the Scientific Paper." (2011) Adv Mater, 23: 4343–4346. doi: 10.1002/adma.201102518

Copyright Clearance Center: Request permission from registered publishers to reuse or adapt any previously published materials. Charges from the major scientific publishers should zero out during the process.

Post Acceptance

Article Share: Authors can generate a unique sharing link to a full-text, read-only version of their article that can be shared with unlimited people. The link can be shared via email, social media, their personal website or online profiles, institutional repositories, or Scholarly Collaboration Networks that are signatories to the Voluntary Principles for Article Sharing on Scholarly Collaboration Networks.

Promoting Your Article: Download a promotional toolkit, view guidelines on content sharing, and learn about Wiley's partnerships with Kudos and Altmetric.

Issue Covers: Authors can suggest an original image from or related to your article for an online issue cover. This is an optional, premium service that aims to increase exposure and showcase your research through a different medium. Results from a small pilot study at Wiley show that cover images increase full-text article views and Altmetric attention scores by 30%!

Waivers and discounts are available to corresponding authors based in developing countries, following the Wiley Open Access guidelines. More Information

Video Abstracts and Shorts: Wiley Editing Services offers a professional video creation service that turns your findings into an engaging and accessible overview, perfect for sharing on websites and social media to extend the reach and visibility of your research. Video is a powerful way to communicate research findings, and they have proven impact on article usage metrics. In a recent analysis, articles with a video averaged 447% higher Altmetric Attention scores and 111% higher full text views on Wiley Online Library. Example

Wiley Editing Services offers professional video, design, and writing services to create shareable video abstracts, infographics, conference posters, lay summaries, and research news stories for your research – so you can help your research get the attention it deserves.

Open Research Initiatives:

Gold Open Access

Authors can choose OnlineOpen, in which the author, the author's funding agency, or the author's institution pays a fee to ensure that the article is made available to non-subscribers via open access, as well as deposited in the funding agency's preferred archive. Authors of OnlineOpen articles are also permitted to post the final, published PDF of their article on a website, institutional repository, or other free public server, immediately on publication.

Check if your institution or funder has a Wiley Open Access Account: Institutional Payments

Green Open Access

PubMed Central

For authors who are funded by the NIH or a PMC/Europe PMC partner and have indicated so during submission, Wiley will deposit the accepted version of the manuscript to the NIH Manuscript System upon publication. Authors should receive an email from NIHMS with instructions on completing the system checks before the article is assigned a PMCID. (If not, authors can email the production editor to obtain the NIHMSID and complete the system checks by logging in at http://www.nihms.nih.gov.) Based on Wiley’s agreement with the NIH, PubMed Central will embargo articles for 12 months after publication.

Other Funder Mandates

Wiley has unique agreements with some funders so you can comply with open access policies when submitting and publishing in Wiley journals.

Open Data

Wiley encourages authors to share their research data by archiving it in an appropriate public repository. Authors may provide a data availability statement, including a link to the repository they have used, to be included in their article. This also helps authors comply with funder requests to share data.

In partnership with the non-profit Center for Open Science (COS), WIREs offers Open Data Badges on published articles to recognize authors who make their data publicly available, providing sufficient description of the data to allow researchers to reproduce findings of published research studies as well as analyses offered in review and opinion articles. Visit re3data.org or fairsharing.org to help identify registered and certified data repositories relevant to your subject area. If you select this option during manuscript submission, you will be asked to fill out a Disclosure Form and upload it with the rest of your files.

Additional Information:

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The WIREs adhere strongly to the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All instances of publishing misconduct, including, but not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication, image/data manipulation to falsify/enhance results, etc. will result in rejection/retraction of the manuscript in question.

Data Protection

By submitting a manuscript to or reviewing for this publication, your name, email address, affiliation, and other contact details the publication might require, will be used for the regular operations of the publication, including, when necessary, sharing with the publisher (Wiley) and partners for production and publication. The publication and the publisher recognize the importance of protecting the personal information collected from users in the operation of these services, and have practices in place to ensure that steps are taken to maintain the security, integrity, and privacy of the personal data collected and processed.

ORCID

An ORCID iD is a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher. Through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, ORCID supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities, ensuring that your work is recognized. All WIREs titles require the submitting author (only) to provide an ORCID iD when submitting a manuscript. We encourage all authors to register.

Peer Review

All WIREs titles use single-blind peer review, in which the author does not know who the reviewers are. This is the most common form of peer review among science journals.

eLocators

eLocators are unique identifiers for online articles that serve the same function page numbers have traditionally served in the print world. When citing WIREs articles, please insert the eLocator in place of the page number.
