Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society
Author Guidelines
The Bulletin welcomes short papers on subjects of general interest that represent a significant advance in mathematical knowledge as well as submissions that are deemed to stimulate new interest and research activity.
Research articles accepted by the Bulletin are of high quality and well written, with a maximum length of 20 pages. Survey articles are also considered regardless of length. If you are submitting a survey article, please begin the title of your paper with the words ’SURVEY ARTICLE’ in capital letters.
The Bulletin shares an Editorial Board with the Journal of the London Mathematical Society. The Journal publishes longer research articles. Both journals employ the same high standard of peer review.
A list of the current Editorial Board members and their specialist interests may be found here.
For full details on how to submit a paper to the Bulletin, please go to the web page https://www.lms.ac.uk/publications/blms
The Bulletin is wholly owned and managed by the London Mathematical Society, a not-for-profit Charity registered with the UK Charity Commission. All surplus income from its publishing programme is used to support mathematicians and mathematics research in the form of research grants, conference grants, prizes, initiatives for early career researchers, and the promotion of mathematics.
The subject coverage of the LMS periodicals ranges across a broad spectrum of mathematics, covering the whole of pure mathematics together with some more applied areas of analysis, mathematical physics, theoretical computer science, probability and statistics. The current Editorial Board reflects predominantly pure interests, but the Society wishes to encourage a spread to more applicable areas and will consider papers submitted in areas of mathematics not covered by existing Board members.
The corresponding author will be sent a free-access URL to the online article once it is published in Early View.
