The journal’s mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge of global health. Its goals are improve the health and well-being of all people, advance health equity and promote wise stewardship of the earth’s environment.

BMC PUBLIC HEALTH《BMC公共卫生》. BMC Public Health is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on the epidemiology of disease and the understanding of all aspects of public health. The journal has a special focus on the social determinants of health, the environmental, behavioral, and occupational correlates of health and disease, and the impact of health policies, practices and interventions on the community. BMC Public Health does not publish clinical research: this should be submitted to the relevant BMC Series medical journal.

SKELETAL MUSCLE《骨骼肌》. Skeletal Muscle is a peer-reviewed, open access, online journal that publishes articles investigating molecular mechanisms underlying the biology of skeletal muscle. A wide range of skeletal muscle biology is included: development, metabolism, the regulation of mass and function, aging, degeneration, dystrophy and regeneration. The emphasis is on understanding adult skeletal muscle, its maintenance, and its interactions with non-muscle cell types and regulatory modulators.

JOURNAL OF VENOMOUS ANIMALS AND TOXINS INCLUDING TROPICAL DISEASES《有毒动物和毒素包括热带病杂志》. Journal of Venomous Animals and Toxins including Tropical Diseases (JVATiTD) is an academic open access publication dedicated to publish research on all aspects of toxinology, venomous animals and tropical diseases. Its interdisciplinary content includes original scientific articles covering research on toxins derived from animals, plants and microorganisms.

DATABASE-THE JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL DATABASES AND CURATION《数据库:生物数据库与治疗杂志》。Database: The Journal of Biological Databases and Curation provides an open access platform for the presentation of novel ideas in database research surrounding biological information, and aims to help strengthen the bridge between database developers, curators, and users. In addition, the journal will provide a platform for the description of novel advances in the field of biocuration and promote the use of information from biological databases to assist in the planning and design of original research projects. Biocuration involves the translation of information relevant to biology and medicine, into an organized format, typically as a database, which enables the integration of scientific literature as well as large datasets such that information is accurately represented and readily accessible, as a source of information for scientists, and as a basis for computational analysis.
